No! We are a team that specializes in developing rugby skills in individuals who are new to the game. Our number one priority is providing players with a safe and rewarding experience.
The majority of our players had no rugby experience before joining the team. Our coaching staff and veteran players are always happy to answer any questions our new members may have.
There are no fees to attend the 101 or practices.
If you choose to join the team, registration for your first season is $50. You must also register with USA Rugby, the national rugby governing board.
Before your first game, you will need a mouthguard and cleats. Our veterans can help you pick these out.
For the Rugby 101, all you need are athletic shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
No such thing! Rugby in general caters to all body types. At our level, especially, there is no wrong size or shape. We will find a good place for you on the pitch!
We practice from 6-8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our Spring and Fall seasons.
Games are on Saturdays, and we typically have 4-5 games a season. Some games are out of town (e.g. Minneapolis, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee)
Rugby is a physically demanding game that demands a certain amount of fitness. That said, many of our players have used the team as their motivation to get into shape. You'll build fitness naturally through practice and play. Expect to be challenged if you're starting from a low base, but our coaches will work with you at your level and you'll improve faster than you think.
